From towering waves to the delicate dance of flickering lights, the sensory world of the sea becomes music in these symphonic masterworks. Debussy’s brilliant and atmospheric La Mer depicts the ever-changing sea through an Impressionist lens. Rimsky Korsakov weaves together episodes from The Arabian Nights, from Sinbad’s seafaring adventures to Scheherazade’s captivating stories- told through beguiling solo violin melodies featuring MPO Concertmaster Peter Daniš. Eiji Oue conducts.

Embrace the fusion of classical and contemporary sounds as Nisa Addina & fwens, Wicked Music People, and Ensemble Virama share the stage in showcase concerts that bridge musical worlds. This concert invites audiences to embark on a voyage centered around Yumi Arai’s “Hikō-ki Gumo” as the production explores themes of cultural identity, travel, and emotion. Expect to hear diverse programs, including Antonín Dvořák’s chamber music, Baroque music such as Vivaldi’s compositions on historical instruments, and epic reimaginings by Nisa Addina of iconic Japanese works by musicians such as YOASOBI and Ryuichi Sakamoto. Malaysian composer Yeo Chow Shern will also be involved as an arranger for the concerts.

In the midst of the Covid-19 Pandemic, members of Palaver Strings banded together with Groupmuse Inc. to perform a variety of chamber music from three remote locations - 3 in Boston, 2 in Mid-Coast Maine, 5 in Southern Maine.

All proceeds from this event were donated to The Innocence Project in honor of Black Lives Matter. The Innocence Project aims to exonerate the wrongly convicted through DNA testing and reforms the criminal justice system to prevent further injustice.

Program includes works by Zoltan Kodaly’s Serenade, selections from Jean-Marie LeClair’s violin duos, and Felix Mendelssohn’s String Quintet.

Hosted on YouTube Premiere, members of Palaver Strings prepared a prerecorded performance to share music during these difficult and separated times. This annual gathering highlighted not only solo and group performances, but also the community and education work in the Portland, Maine that the group is strongly invested in.

The Cape Cod Chamber Orchestra presents “Toward the Sea”, a special program detailing the events of the Pilgrim's journey and acknowledging indigenous people during the Mayflower's 400th year. A reception featuring Native American art from members of the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe follows the concert with an opportunity to meet the musicians. The orchestra is conducted by Music Director Matthew Scinto.

The Orchestra of Indian Hill celebrates J. S. Bach’s 335th! Joining forces with the Spectrum Singers, this concert features a performance of Bach’s magnificent Magnificat, and then turns all-orchestral in presenting a series of his most popular music in arrangements by the great Leopold Stokowski and William Walton.

For too long, women have been shunted to the sidelines of history, their voices silenced and their influence minimized. The history of classical music is no exception, and even the most gifted female musicians were discouraged from pursuing their careers, their work relegated to the footnotes of music history textbooks. Even today as more opportunities open up for female performers, composers, directors, and producers, these systemic injustices persist. With music from the renaissance, twentieth century, and a world premiere by Sato Matsui, Ready Or Not celebrates the diverse voices and unique artistic visions of women throughout the ages, who have always made music whether the world was ready or not.

Program includes works by Maddalena Casulana, Sato Matsui, Florence Price, Anna Clyne, and Grazyna Bacewicz.

"On the Nature of Daylight" explores the gradual return of light marked by the winter solstice. As we look through thin sunbeams and frosted windows, we find warmth and comfort in the measured lengthening of the days. The program opens with "Winter" from Vivaldi’s beloved "Four Seasons", featuring acclaimed violin soloist Nicholas Kitchen, followed by Max Richter's "On the Nature of Daylight", a musical meditation that juxtaposes desolation with pure beauty and gentleness. We finish with Mendelssohn’s radiant "Octet for Strings", which with its youthful brilliance, captures the promise of spring.

Presented at Boston University College of Fine Arts, Su Yin presents a night of music for violin and piano with pianists Pierre-Nicolas Colombat and Tae Kim.

As partial fulfillment for the Doctoral of Musical Arts degree, Dr. Chan presented her doctoral thesis on George Enescu’s Sonata No.3 in A minor "dans le caractère populaire roumain" (in Romanian Folk Style) for violin and piano. The presentation focused on the influences of Romanian folk music on the work and Enescu’s innovations of musical notation, merging the lines between folk style and Western Classical traditions. The lecture recital concluded with a performance of the sonata its in entirety, performed with pianist Lorena Tecu.
